Sanctified

1 Corinthians 1:2a
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, …

The real you, the spirit man on the inside has been sanctified in Christ. The word sanctified means to be set apart and dedicated unto God. Sanctification of our spirit man was God’s part, now we respond by consecration of our soul and bodies. Jesus in praying for His disciples said in John 17 that we would be in the world but not of the world. In His prayer He prayed we would be sanctified by God’s truth, for His Word is truth.

Once born again we don’t have to live the way of the world. We can live a life set apart from fear, worry, doubt, sin, sickness, etc. All these things are in the world and are true, but there is Truth that reveals we have been set apart from all of that, God’s Word. If we will learn from the Word who we now are in Christ and become doers of the Word and not just hearers only, we will be set apart by the Truth. Become one with the Word of God by hearing and doing the Truth and you will live a sanctified life, set apart from the world.

Law of Love

Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

The old law of sin and death referred to the Ten Commandments for the strength of sin is the Ten Commandments, which revealed that man was separated from God (death). God gave the Ten Commandments to reveal the sinful nature within man for all have sinned. When you look at the Ten Commandments you realize that everyone has violated them. But the new law in the New Testament is the law of love. When you are born again that love was shed abroad in our hearts revealing we now have a spirit, filled with life (reunited with God). How do we walk in victory over the spiritual death that once had us bound? We walk in this new law of love. The word for law means “to rule.” We are now to be ruled by the love nature that is in us. As we are ruled in our actions, choosing to yield to the love of God within, it frees us from the actions of the old sin nature of death that separated us from God. So walk in the spirit of life by choosing to walk in love and you will walk free from the old sinful nature that leads to death, which means separation from the God-kind of life.

No Condemnation

Romans 8:1
THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

Once you are born again there is no condemnation for the believer who does not denounce Jesus Christ. The word condemnation is defined as a damnatory sentence or judgement of guilt. The reason is because the old sinful man within has been done away with and we are made new. Jesus on the cross not only bore our sin, He bore the punishment our sin deserved. This is why in Isaiah’s prophecy about Jesus he said that Jesus was stricken and smitten by God. Jesus then went into hell itself paying the full price for our sin and the judgement our sin deserved. So the damnation (separation from God) that man deserved has been taken away for those who receive Christ. He will never leave you nor forsake you. If we still focus on and see ourselves through the fleshly man on the outside, we will feel condemned. But if we see what God sees, our new spirit man within, we will not feel condemned for we will see our new nature within. Become spirit conscious and spirit led, governed by your new nature, and you will not fall prey to condemnation.

Freely Justified

Romans 3:24
being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

In Christ we have justification given to us as a gift. You do not earn a gift. Justified means you have been “Declared Righteous” (right with God), because you have been redeemed. Jesus purchased this gift for you. You don’t try to get right with God you already are because of what Christ has done for you. It is because of justification you now have the right to all that Christ has provided for you. We don’t receive what Christ has provided for us because we have earned it, but because we have been made right with God. So just as you receive salvation by faith in Christ and what He has done for you, so do you also receive all that He has provided. For all who are born again have become the righteousness of God and through your right standing with Him you receive what God has for you.

True Identity

Hebrews 9:24
For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;…

When God breathed into Adam the breath of life the first thing Adam saw was the face of God. This is were man’s identity came from, his Creator. When Adam sinned the bible says he hid himself from the presence of God, which that word means the face of God. Man now looked to the creation (the world) turning away from the Father for his identity. He could not see God’s face.

But Jesus did something about that. When He went before the presence (face) of the Father, Jesus made it possible for us to look to the Father’s face and regain our identity in Him our Creator, instead of the creation. How do we look upon His face? Look to Jesus, the Word that became flesh, for He said if you have seen Me you have seen the Father. Don’t look to the world for you identity, look to Jesus (the Word) and you can regain your value and worth in Him.

Speak What You Seek

Hebrews 8:6
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

The promises we have been given in the new covenant are based on what Christ has done for us, not what we have done. Realize that every promise we have in Christ is available to all, for God is not a respecter of persons, but a respecter of faith. One of the keys to faith is no longer seeing what we have in Christ as a promise, for that would put it off into the future. Faith takes what we have been given a promise of and sees it as a present day reality for faith brings everything into the present tense. “Now” faith is. When you walk by faith you do not put what God has said is already ours off into the future. For example faith would not say I am believing to be healed. Faith says what does not exist in the natural does already exist for faith calls those things which do not exist as though they did (Romans 4:17). Faith is of the heart for man believes in his heart and confession is made unto what God has said. Feed on the Word until it becomes real to your inner man. Choose to walk by faith not by sight seeing God’s promises as a present reality and receive the better promises God has provided for you.

Hold Fast Your Confession

Hebrews 4:14
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

When Jesus ascended into heaven He fulfilled all that was needed for us to be victorious here on earth. One of the major keys to walking in victory is holding fast to a faith filled confession. Consistently confess who you are, what you have, and what you can do in Christ. To hold fast your confession means to keep saying the same thing. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, therefore what you consistently confess, you will possess. Your words are carriers of seeds sown. Whatever a man sows, that he will reap. The key to changing your confession is in what you are feeding on. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. So feed on God’s Word, hold fast to a confession of faith and you can watch your life change.

Overcoming Temptation

Hebrews 2:18 For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

Because Jesus was tempted in all things and yet free from sin, He can now come to aid us in overcoming every temptation. There is nothing He cannot deliver us from. We simply follow in His example that He gave us in the wilderness. Jesus is the Word made flesh, and it is the Word that helps us overcome. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He defeated each temptation by quoting scripture. As the devil would tempt Him in an area, Jesus countered that temptation with the Word of God as He would declare what was written in the scriptures. If we will feed on the Word we will have the ammunition to face and defeat the temptations that come. As scripture tells us when we hide God’s Word in our heart we will not sin against Him. The Word as an offensive weapon, the sword of the Spirit, and will help us overcome the temptations. We simply declare the Word to our enemy as Jesus did and therefore resist the temptation and He will flee. When temptations come to try and defeat you or mislead you, declare what is written and you too can overcome temptation.

Death Defeated

Hebrews 2:14
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,…

Through the blood Jesus shed for us we have no reason to fear the devil. He has been rendered powerless to all who know their rightful place in Christ. In Ephesians chapter one we are told that God’s mighty power was seen when Jesus was raised from the dead, for He was seated far above all the powers of darkness and every name that is named. It goes on to tell us that all things were placed under His feet, to which He was made the head of His body. We are the body of Christ. All these powers of darkness were placed under our feet, for the very next chapter tells us that we have been raised up together and seated with Christ at the right hand of God. God’s right hand is the place of ultimate authority. For any believer to have fear of the devil or his works they do not understand their rightful place in Christ. Do not fear the devil nor his works. Rise up to your rightful place as a child of God and through the name of Jesus use your authority against our enemy who has been rendered powerless. The only power satan can use against you is by deceiving you or seducing you to be under his control. Walk in your rightful place and keep him under your feet where he belongs.

Jesus Tasted Death For Us

Hebrews 2:9
But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

Jesus tasted death for all who put their trust in Him. Death is separation from God and separation from the God-kind of life He wants us to live. Because Jesus tasted death for us we can now walk in the abundant life He has provided. A key to receiving this abundant life has to do with what we feed on and then speak over our lives. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Jesus said man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from God. Jesus also said the Words He spoke are Spirit and they are life. Out of the abundance of the heart one speaks. So we now have the choice to continue to taste death by feeding on worldly things and therefore tasting death through the words we speak, or we can feed on God’s Word and taste life by speaking His Word. Life and death has been set before us, choose life by feeding on and speaking God’s Word.
