Ministry of Reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:19

that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

The word reconciliation means to make an exchange, to restore to favor with God. Jesus became our substitutionary sacrifice by being made sin so that we could be made righteous. What Jesus is we have become for He became what we were. Once born again we can stand in the presence of God without shame for we have become one with Christ. God was in Christ completing this work on the earth. In the eyes of God the sinner got saved at Calvary when Christ became sin, therefore God is not keeping a record of the sinners sin. This is what not imputing their sins means. What will send a sinner to hell and eternal damnation is not receiving Christ as their Savior. For all who are born again we now have a ministry of sharing this with sinners. It is not theirs sins that is keeping them separated from God but the sinful spirit within. Their sins are the result of that sinful nature. So when you witness to a sinner don’t focus on their sins, but the sinful nature within them for that is the root of the problem. If they will repent (turn to God) they will have that sinful nature removed and they can experience reconciliation; the great exchange, dying to the old man and receiving a new spirit within.

Let God Lead You

2 Corinthians 2:14

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

If you want to triumph in life you must allow God to lead you. He will always lead you into the victory He has for you. The two things we must do to be led by God are to walk in the light of His Word, and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. When we walk in the light of His Word we choose to walk in His footsteps, which leads us into what He has provided for us through Christ Jesus. We must also then learn to follow the inward witness of the Holy Spirit, who will always lead us in line with the Word of God. Don’t allow your own mind, will, or emotions to tell you what to do contrary to the will of God. Learn to obey the voice of your spirit man, your conscience, and you will be led by God instead of what your flesh wants. In choosing to let God lead us we will triumph in life and be a powerful witness for Him.

Death In Adam, Life In Christ

1 Corinthians 15:22

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Because of Adams sin man became estranged from God, separated from the Father and life itself. All who are in Christ are no longer dead (separated from God), now through their union with Christ they are alive, reunited with the Father. We are one spirit with Him, filled with the Zoe life of God, the God-kind of life. That life that is now in us is the very nature of God Himself. We have been given this new life within so we can live a new life outwardly. One of the keys to doing so is found in Ephesians 5:1 which tells us to imitate God in everything we do because we are now His children. You do so by choosing daily to think like God, talk like God, and act like God. Start making a conscious effort to do so every day. If you do, this new life within you will begin to manifest through you, changing your life and the life of others as well.

What He Became We Now Are

1 Corinthians 1:30

But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption.

What Jesus became for us we now have because we are in Him. Because we are in Him we have wisdom from God (the mind of Christ), righteousness (right standing with God), sanctification (set apart to pursue God), and redemption (deliverance from evil and all it’s works). Get to know Jesus through the Word of God, and the more that you do, the more you get to know the new you, because we have become one spirit with the Lord. Reading and meditating on the Word of God is spending time with the unseen Christ for He is the Word that became flesh. The written Word reveals to us the living Word, Jesus Christ; and as you get to know Him you get to know this new you because we are “in Christ”. As you develop in your relationship with Him, you will develop in wisdom, righteousness (right standing with God), sanctification (being set apart to Him), and redemption (freedom from the works of evil). For all He has become for us, we have become in Him.

1 Corinthians 1:2a

To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, …

In John 17:16-17 Jesus prayed and declared we are in the world but not of the world, and that we would be sanctified (set apart) from the world by the truth of God’s Word. Once born again we should no longer live the way of the world. We begin to live a life set apart from fear, worry, doubt, sin, sickness, etc. All these things are in the world and are true, but there is Truth that reveals we have been set apart from all of that, God’s Word. If we will learn from the Word of God who we now are in Christ and become doers of the Word and not just hearers only, we will be set apart by the Truth. Become one with the Word of God by hearing and doing the Truth, and you will live a life set apart from the world.

Ruled By The Spirit of Life

Romans 8:2

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

The old law of sin and death referred to the Ten Commandments for the strength of sin is the Ten Commandments, which revealed that man was separated from God (death). God gave the Ten Commandments to reveal the sinful nature within man for all have sinned. When you look at the Ten Commandments you realize that everyone has violated them. But the law in the New Testament is the law of love. When you are born again that love was shed abroad in our hearts revealing we now have a spirit filled with the life of God (reunited with God). How do we walk in victory over the spiritual death that once had us bound? We walk in this new law of love. The word for law means “to rule.” We are now to be ruled by the love nature that is in us. As we are ruled by love, choosing to yield to the love of God within, it frees us from the actions of the old sin nature of death that separated us from God. So walk in the Spirit of life by choosing to walk in love and you will walk free from that old sinful nature of death.

No Condemnation

Romans 8:1

THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

Once you are born again there is no condemnation for the believer who does not denounce Jesus Christ. The word condemnation is defined as a damnatory sentence or judgement of guilt. The reason is because the old sinful man within has been done away with and we are made new. Jesus on the cross not only bore our sin, He bore the punishment our sin deserved. This is why in Isaiah’s prophecy about Jesus he said that Jesus was stricken and smitten by God. Jesus then went into hell itself paying the full price for our sin and the judgement our sin deserved. So the damnation (separation from God) that man deserved has been taken away for those who receive Christ. He will never leave you nor forsake you. If we still focus on and see ourselves through the fleshly man on the outside, we will feel condemned. But if we see what God sees, our new spirit man within, we will not feel condemned for we will see our new nature within. Become spirit conscious and spirit led, governed by your new nature, and you will not fall prey to condemnation.
