Our Love For Him

John 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; …

God has revealed His love for us by sending Jesus to the cross. There is no doubt about how much God loves us for that love was revealed to us when Christ bore our sin, sickness, punishment, and shame on the cross; for greater love has no one then to lay down their life for another. But how is our love for Jesus revealed? Jesus tells us in the above verse. If we truly love Him we will keep His Word.

When you talk about obedience to the Word of God today many say you are teaching legalism and bondage. But obedience to God’s Word brings liberty not bondage. Jesus said if you become one with His Word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. In the Old Testament they were to obey God’s Word because it was the law. In the New Testament we obey the Word of the Lord because of love. Faith works through love. Faith is acting upon and in line with the Word of God. But our faith only works when we do so because we love Him. Our love for the Lord is revealed in our obedience to Him.

We Can Do What Jesus Did

John 14:12

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Jesus said it was not Him but the Father in Him that did the works He did. In Acts 10:38 we are told that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus did not do the miracles He did because He was God, if that were true then we would not be able to do the works He did for we are not God. Jesus most certainly is God who came in the flesh to the earth, but He did the works by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Upon putting our faith in Jesus Christ we can do the same works Jesus did because it is the same Holy Spirit living in us that was with Him. He has given us a Helper to do the work. Now all we have to do is have faith in Jesus, what He has said to us, and faith in what we have seen Him do by the Holy Spirit within Him, and we too can do the same works. He is the Head, we are the body. We are His hands and His Word spoken in this earth. Step out in faith and know that you have the same Holy Spirit in your life to do the work. For all who will put their faith in what He has available for them they can receive through us by the Holy Spirit what He has done.

Abundant Life

John 10:10

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We know God is not a thief, so anything that involves stealing, killing, or destroying is not from God but from the thief himself, satan. It is interesting to note that in it’s context if you read the previous nine verses here you find out Jesus begins by teaching us that any shepherd who did not come through the gate, which He tells us He is that gate, is a thief. Jesus according to Ephesians 4 is the One who gives us the five fold ministries gifts, which includes the pastor, which is the word for shepherd. What Jesus is teaching us is that any pastor not gifted (ordained) by Him is a thief.

In 2 Corinthians 11:15 we find out that satan has his own ministers who appear as ministers of righteousness, but they are under his control. This is the primary way satan steals, kills, and destroys through false and deceptive teaching mixed with some truth. Paul called them teachers who would tickle one’s itching ears. So if we don’t want to be taken advantage of and we want to experience the life God has for us, we need a shepherd who will teach us as Paul also said the whole counsel of God. Beware of having your ears tickled and only hearing what you want to hear but not receiving all of what scripture teaches. It is in knowing the truth that you will be set free from the destructive works of the thief and experience abundant life.

Draw From The Well

John 4:14

…but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

For all who are in Christ they now have within them a well of water from which they can draw from anytime, the Holy Spirit. If you had a natural well of water but never made the effort to draw water up from that well you would become weary and dry from a lack of water. So also do many Christians become weary for they either have never placed their faith in God to be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (a heavenly language), or once they have they do not daily draw from that well by praying in this heavenly language.

In Jude 1:20 we are told that we build ourselves up when we pray in the Holy Spirit (our heavenly language). When you do you are drawing water from the well and therefore you will not become weary. This is why the devil has brought so much deception in the area of the baptism of the Holy Spirit for he wants you to grow weary. If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit just ask the Lord in faith. If you have been then draw from that well every day from which you can receive refreshing by praying in your heavenly language and you can experience rivers of living water.

You Have Authority

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The body of Christ should not be tread upon by the works of darkness, but should be treading upon and triumphing over all the power of the enemy because of the authority Jesus has given to us. You have been seated with Christ, far above all the powers and works of darkness. Jesus has delegated to us the same authority He has through the use of His name. It is the name of Jesus that is far above every name.

When Christ cleansed us of our sin, He put us in right standing with God and therefore gave us the right to use His name. We must have understanding in our hearts of the power that is in that name and of our rightful place in Christ Jesus to use that name. Walk in the light of who you are as a child of God and the power that is in the name of Jesus, and as you declare that name over the powers of darkness and their destructive works, you will trample them under your feet.

Move That Mountain

Mark 11:23

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

In Christ Jesus you have the ability to move mountains. Jesus did not say to ask God to move the mountain, you command it to move. A mountain represents any obstacle that stands between you and that which God has promised is yours in Christ, or that which tries to stop you from carrying out His will for your life. Jesus gave an example before He spoke this to His disciples.

He had spoken to a fig tree that was producing no fruit and He declared that no one would eat fruit from that tree again. At that moment it did not look like anything had changed. But the next day when they passed by that tree, Peter noticed that it was now dead. It had died from the roots up. When you speak to any mountain in faith using the authority we have been given through the name of Jesus, you know the work has begun from the roots up. Learn to use the name of Jesus and command that mountain to move.

Just Believe

Mark 9:23

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

There is nothing impossible for those who walk in Bible faith. Faith believes in the heart not the head what God has promised us. Faith speaks in line with what one believes, and faith acts upon the Word of God. Find scripture that gives you the promise of what you are believing for. Meditate on those verses until they become real to your inner man (your spirit man). Then release your faith believing you have received when you pray, and stay in faith calling those things that do not exist as though they did.

Faith does not deny the existence of a problem or obstacle, but faith does not focus on the things in the natural but on the Word of God. Faith does not look at what is seen, does not become occupied with what you are facing, but it looks at what is not seen, the promise of God’s Word that is not yet manifest but faith sees it as a present day reality. Faith also acts upon the Word of God for faith without corresponding action is dead. We must act upon what God’s Word says. What man says is impossible, God says is possible to them that believe. Just believe!
