You Have Been Given Authority

Luke 10:19

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The body of Christ should not be tread upon by the works of darkness, but should be treading upon and triumphing over all the power of the enemy because of the authority Jesus has given to us. You have been seated with Christ, far above all the powers and works of darkness. Jesus has delegated to us the same authority He has through the use of His name. It is the name of Jesus that is far above every name.

Believers often pray and ask God to do something with the devil and his attacks on their life but that is why they don’t get results. In the New Testament, our covenant with God, we are told that we must resist the devil and he will flee from us. It does not say to ask God to do this for you. When Christ cleansed us of our sin, He put us in right standing with God and therefore gave us the right to use His name, which is how we use this authority He has given to us over all the power of the enemy.

We must have understanding in our hearts of the power that is in that name and of our rightful place in Christ Jesus to use that name. Walk in the light of who you are as a child of God and the power that is in the name of Jesus, and as you declare that name over the powers of darkness and their destructive works, you will trample them under your feet.

Speak To The Mountain

Mark 11:23

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

In Christ Jesus you have the ability to move mountains. Jesus did not say to ask God to move the mountain, you command it to move. A mountain represents any obstacle that stands between you and that which God has promised is yours in Christ, or that which tries to stop you from carrying out His will for your life. Jesus gave an example before He spoke this to His disciples.

He had spoken to a fig tree that was producing no fruit and He declared that no one would eat fruit from that tree again. At that moment it did not look like anything had changed. But the next day when they passed by that tree, Peter noticed that it was now dead. It had died from the roots up. When you speak to any mountain in faith using the authority we have been given through the name of Jesus, you know the work has begun from the roots up.

Realize that we are not told to go to God and ask Him to do something about the mountains that we face. Jesus said you are to speak to it. We have been given authority, God’s delegates power through the name of Jesus to use in this earth, and we must use that authority against whatever may stand in our way. Learn to use the name of Jesus and command that mountain to move.

All Things Are Possible

Mark 9:23

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

There is nothing impossible for those who walk in Bible faith. Faith believes in the heart not the head what God has promised us. Faith speaks in line with what one believes, and faith acts upon the Word of God. Find scripture that gives you the promise of what you are believing for. Meditate on those verses until they become real to your inner man (your spirit man).

Then release your faith believing you have received when you pray, and stay in faith calling those things that do not exist as though they did. Faith does not deny the existence of a problem or obstacle, but faith does not focus on the things in the natural but on the Word of God. Faith does not look at what is seen, does not become occupied with what you are facing, but it looks at what is not seen the promise of God’s Word that is not yet manifest.

Faith sees that promise as a present day reality for you have taken hold of that promise in your heart, your spirit man. Faith also acts upon the Word of God for faith without corresponding action is dead. We must act upon what God’s Word says. What man says is impossible, God says is possible to them that believe. Just believe!

Baptized With The Holy Spirit

Mark 1:8

“I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus desires for us to be more than just born again, it is His desire that we be immersed in the presence of God. If we will ask Him in faith, it is He who will baptize (immerse) us in the Holy Spirit. In Acts 1:8 Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power (be empowered) after the Holy Spirit came upon them and they would be able to go and do the works Jesus did. Acts 10:38 declares Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, and He went about doing good and healing those oppressed of the devil.

There is more than a born again experience for the believer. When you are born again, your spirit is made new and the Holy Spirit comes into your spirit. But when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit you yield yourself unto the presence of God within you and He comes upon you to empower you to set people free following in Jesus’ example. Jesus Himself said in John 14:12 that the works He did we can do also.

This is a missing element in many believers lives. There are many churches that do not teach the “Full Gospel”, for being baptized in the Holy Spirit is a part of the good news available to every believer. If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit find a church that believes in all Jesus taught and learn how to receive this power for your life through the Holy Spirit who lives in everyone who is born again. You will be glad you did.

Love For Jesus

Acts 20:24

24 But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

A golden rule to finishing your race, not abandoning your walk with Christ, and never turning from the ways of the Lord; you must learn not allow things to move you. To many believers are moved away from church, the Bible, a godly confession, Christian fellowship, godly leadership, and fellowship with God because of things that happen in their life. Notice in this verse how we avoid allowing such things to affect us. We are not to count our lives dear to ourselves. Translation, stop living for you.

As a believer in Christ we were bought at a price and we belong to God, therefore we should live for Him. When you live for God you can’t get your feelings hurt, nor allow what happens around you to take control of how you live, for you are following after Christ. This is how you live a joy filled life for you stop focusing on the things of the world which do not bring true joy but only fleeting happiness.

But the joy of the Lord is a powerful and constant strength to your life. When you live for God and He is why you get up everyday life takes on a whole new view. One filled with the goodness and the glory of our God. Keep your focus on the Creator and not on the creation and you will no longer be tossed around by the challenges of life but instead overcome them by not being moved.

We Have Been Saved

Matthew 18:11

“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”

Once you come to know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. The word saved is defined as: to rescue from danger or destruction, to save one from disease, to make well, to heal, restore to health, and to deliver from the Messianic judgement. If you know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. You are not going to be you already are.

To walk in the reality of all Christ has done for us you must believe in your heart that it is already so, for faith does not see what Christ has done for us as a promise to come, but a present day reality, for faith is present tense (now faith is). It is no different then salvation for the sinner. God has already done what is needed for one to be born again. They must simply receive by faith what He has already done, and so it is with all we have in Christ.

We need to see what He has done as a completed work, believing in our hearts we have what He has said. We must agree with God’s Word, declaring what His Word says, and we must act upon His Word. When you do then you will walk in what is already yours for you have been saved!

How To Obtain His Rest

Matthew 11:28-29

28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

In the book of Hebrews we are told the children of Israel did not enter into the rest God had for them because they did not obey what God told them to do. The Bible calls that unbelief. Unbelief is when we hear what God’s Word says, but we choose not to do it. We instead choose to live life our own way. In doing so we are not taking His yoke upon us and learning from Him, and therefore we are going to be heavy laden in life as we are living life our own way.

But when we come to Jesus and get born again, and then come to the Word of God which is coming to Jesus for He is the Word that became flesh, and learn of His ways and do them, we find rest for our souls. Our soul (our mind) needs to be renewed. Don’t be like the children of Israel who through unbelief did not obey God’s Word but instead continued to do things their own way, rejecting what God has told them.

Unbelief is based on theory or the ways of man, but faith is based on the facts of God’s Word. Walk by faith choosing to come to the Word of God not questioning what He tells us do, but just doing what it He says. When we do so then we will walk in His rest as we see our faith in God work for us, for when you walk by faith and not by sight you are resting in God.
