Sanctification Leads To Consecration

Hebrews 10:10

By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Sanctification is what God did to separate us unto Him. Our spirit man within was sanctified (separated) from sin because we were given a new spirit. The old sinful spirit is gone. Consecration is our response to sanctification. Because of God’s work of sanctification (giving us a new spirit man within) we now consecrate ourselves (dealing with outward actions), separating ourselves unto God to have fellowship with Him in the beauty of holiness.

Without consecration you cannot have intimate fellowship with God. God loves everyone the same, but He does not fellowship with everyone the same as 1 Peter 1:15-16 tells us, that as God who called us is holy, we too should be holy in all our conduct. Consecration is what holiness is all about, for to be holy means you now set yourself apart from the world unto God.

If we do not consecrate ourselves from sin we will harden our heart toward God. God is a Spirit and He bears witness with our spirit. If we don’t consecrate ourselves from sin we sear our conscience (the voice of our spirit man), and that will hinder our ability to hear from God and to therefore be led by Him. So live a consecrated life in gratitude of the sanctified work of Christ and you can develop an intimate walk with God.

Strong In The Lord

Philippians 4:13

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].

It is through our reliance on Jesus that we have the strength for all things because we are self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. Don’t try to be strong, rely on His strength. When we are weak, then we are strong. We are weak when we are not trying to be strong in ourselves but draw upon His strength within us.

Believers often say they are trying to be strong but the Bible does not teach us to find strength in ourselves. All who trust in the Lord shall renew their strength and they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary, they shall walk and shall not faint. When we choose to put our full trust in God, He becomes our strength. We are no longer relying on us but on Him.

As scripture teaches we need to trust in Him with all our heart by acknowledging Him in all our ways and He will direct our steps bringing great strength to our lives. Take Him at His Word acting upon what He has said. Refuse to go your own way. Believe the Word of God and His strength will put you over for all things are possible to them that believe. Just believe.

Care Free Living

Phil. 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Phil. 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

We are not to be anxious (worry) about anything yet many Christians do. Worrying robs your faith. You cannot be in faith and worry at the same time. So how can we live a care free life? Begin by going to God’s Word and find scripture that gives you the promise of God to deal with your circumstances. This will be vital to not allow worry to overtake you.

Once you have scripture go to God in prayer letting your request (what you are needing) be made known to Him. Supplication means to bring your petition to God, but do so with thanksgiving, thanking God for what He has promised in His Word about your situation. Faith always sees His promises as already fulfilled. So thank Him for what He has already done through Christ Jesus to change that situation.

Once you have prayed maintain a confession of thanks to God for His promises, the peace of God will guard your heart and mind from worry. When thoughts come refuse to think about and meditate on what leads you to worry by confessing and meditating on God’s Word. Worry will only keep you in defeat, but you don’t have to worry. You can master what you choose to think about and when you do you can be free from worry.

God’s Goodness Revealed

Ephesians 2:7

He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.

Our heavenly Father demonstrated His goodness toward us through what Christ has done for us. This is grace revealed for Jesus is that grace. How good is our God? So good that He has given us what we did not deserve. This influence of grace on the heart of man is what leads him away from ungodliness and to our God. Grace is heavens help that we receive, undeserved, and not earned. Grace is what empowers us to live free from sin. It empowers us to be partakers of all we have in Christ Jesus.

Scripture teaches us that there is more grace to be received from God once we are born again. James tells us God resists the proud but gives more grace to the humble. The very next verse tells us how to walk in humility. Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Simply put, do what God says in His Word and you are submitting to Him and receiving more grace. When you do you are resisting the devil.

Titus 2:10-11 tells us His grace appeared to all men, teaching us to deny all ungodliness and worldly lust, and to live a godly life. The grace that appeared to all men was Jesus. So as you submit to God, following after Jesus who is the Word made flesh, you overcome anything the devil throws at you. So don’t live in pride choosing your own way. Submit to God and receive even more grace and experience the goodness of your God.

Heir of God

Galatians 4:7

Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

We are heir’s of God (one who receives his allotted possession by right of sonship), through our wonderful Savior Jesus Christ. As sons and daughters of God our inheritance is based on what Christ has done for us, not what we have done, and we receive that inheritance by faith. One who is a part of a family and given an inheritance is written in the will of that family member.

That inheritance is theirs by birthright and it is revealed to them in the reading of the will. God has written us in His will, the will and testament of the New Covenant. We are written in His will because once born again we are part of His family. So every promise He has given to the children of God is a part of our inheritance just waiting for us to claim it.

So go to God’s Word and find out what belongs to you in Christ by spending time reading His will for you. Meditate on those promises until you see them as yours. Then lay claim to it by faith based on what Jesus has done, not what you have done. Don’t let the devil and others talk you out of what belongs to you. It is your inheritance as a child of God.

Victory Is Yours

1 Corinthians 15:57

…but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is God who has given us the victory through what Jesus has done for us. When we fight the good fight of faith, we are enforcing that victory in our lives. This fight does not mean we fight the devil for Jesus has already defeated him for us. The fight of faith is maintaining our belief, confession, and action in line with God’s Word. Circumstances will try to get you to doubt and to magnify what you see in the natural.

To stay in faith you must refuse to be moved by what you see, but instead maintain a faith filled confession of the Word of God. Scripture tells us having done all to stand, stand therefore. You must not allow what you see or feel to discourage you. The primary battle will be in the mind as thoughts contrary to what God’s Word says will try to get you to doubt God.

You must counter these thoughts with God’s Word. The Word of God tells us that God has provided for us all things that pertain to life and godliness. So act like the Word is true because it is. Hold fast to your confession of faith declaring what God’s Word says right in the face of any challenges in the natural, for the victory is yours!

More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:37

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Through our relationship in Christ Jesus and what He has done for us we are more than conquerors through His shed blood. How do we walk in this victorious life Christ has provided for us? We overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the Word of our testimony, and we love not our own lives. The first thing we must understand is to walk in the revelation of what the blood of Jesus has done for us. We have to believe in our hearts that when Jesus shed His blood, we were provided a new covenant we are to walk in.

You must know what your new covenant rights are according to the Word of God. When you know what your rights are you must declare those rights as already done with your own words to take possession of what is now yours. Like the children of Israel these promises have already been given to us, but we must take possession of what Christ has provided through a faith filled confession. We must also chose to walk in God’s will for our life and not our own will as shown to us through His Word.

For example, faith works through love. If we know what belongs to us and have a faith filled confession but choose to not walk in love, our faith will not work. We must lay our life down and choose this new way of life He has planned for us. The payment has been made and the new covenant promises await. Now take possession of what is yours for you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus who loves you!

Eternal Life

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Death refers to being separated from God who is life itself. It was sin that separated man from his relationship with God. Most think eternal life refers to the future when we go to heaven. It includes the future but Jesus said in John 17:3 that eternal life was to know God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son. Because of the blood Jesus shed all who receive this life have had their sin washed away and can now know the Father and His Son, and this is the very reason He came.

You should not wait to get to heaven to get to know your heavenly Father. In the book of James we are told that if we draw near to God He will draw near to us. Take time to experience eternal life now by going to God’s Word and fellowshipping with Him. Every time you open God’s Word and listen to what it says, God is speaking to you.

Take time to pray and develop your relationship with God. Don’t do all the talking, take time to get quite and listen. The door of fellowship has been opened. When you spend time with God He rubs off on you. You will know true peace and contentment if you will just make it a priority to spend time with Him. Get to know God, not just know about Him, and you will experience the gift of eternal life.

Do Not Worry

Matthew 6:25

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life,

One of the most detrimental things to life is worry. Think about these questions for a moment, has there ever been a time in your life where worrying helped you? Did worrying about anything ever bring resolve to the problem? The answer of course would have to be no. Then why do believers worry, especially when Jesus told us not to worry. Doing so means we are not obeying our Lord who told us not to do so.

The devil loves for believers to worry. Doing so they are disobeying what Jesus said, and where worry is present faith cannot work. The reason people worry is because they have not taken the time to master their thought life as taught in scripture. The battle ground for every person is in the mind. The devil knows if he can get you to take the wrong thoughts he can get you to worry. One translation of the above verse even says take no thought for your life. Worry means you have taken the wrong thought.

This is why we have the Word of God, which contains the knowledge of God (our weapons). You must learn to take every thought that comes contrary to what God’s Word says and cast it down by declaring “It is written”, and then speaking God’s Word. If you do not learn to do so you will lose the battle of the mind and can therefore be defeated by the devil. Stop taking thoughts contrary to God’s Word. Declare what His Word says every time such thoughts come and you can live worry free and win the battle of the mind.

Dead To Sin Alive To God

Romans 6:11

Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Christ took our sin on the cross and freed us from sin and all that came as a result of sin; sickness, disease, poverty, lack, fear, worry, stress, etc. Consider yourself dead to all that came through sin and alive to all that we now have through Christ. Stop thinking about and magnifying what you see in the natural; instead meditate on and magnify what Christ has done for you. Scripture teaches us that as a man thinks, so is he.

If you see yourself sick, lacking what you need, or defeated, you are going to continue to allow the very things that Christ has freed you from to over take you. You need to renew your mind to what God says about you. Consider all that Christ has done for you instead of what you may be facing in the natural. We walk by faith (what God’s Word says), not by sight.

To do so you must consider the Word above everything else. Stay in the Word of God and focus your thoughts on what it says. The Word is truth and even though it may be true that you are facing something in the natural, truth will change what may be currently true in your life. Truth revealed through the Word means God is faithful to fulfill His Word. What you see is subject to change. What are you considering?
