Yes and Amen

Galatians 3:26

For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith.

You don’t join the family of God, you are born into God’s family. We have been born of the Spirit of God. God’s very own Spirit comes to reside in you. What gives us the right to what God has promised us is our birthright as His children. As sons and daughters of God, we are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ.

We now have an inheritance because we have been born again into the family of God. Everything God has promised us in the New Covenant belongs to us because we are His children. In 2 Corinthians 1:20 we are told that all the promises of God are yes and amen. God shows no favorites in His family. Every promise we have been given in Christ is available to all who are born again.

Most believe God is able to help them but question if He is willing to do so. Well you don’t have to wonder if He will do what He has promised, for He has already given us His Word on it and said yes. We must give our amen. The amen is a statement of faith that means so be it for me. So as His son or daughter give your amen of faith to what He has promised you, and you can walk in your inheritance.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

2 Corinthians 5:19

It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor).

The word reconciliation means to make an exchange, to restore to favor with God. Jesus became our substitutionary sacrifice by being made sin so that we could be made righteous. What Jesus is we have become, for He became what we were. Once born again we can stand in the presence of God without shame, for we have become one with Christ. God was in Christ completing this work on the earth. In the eyes of God every sinner got saved at Calvary when Christ became sin, therefore God is not keeping a record of the sinners sins.

This is what not imputing their sins means. What will send a sinner to hell and eternal damnation is not receiving Christ as their Savior. It is the sinful nature within that is the root of the problem that has them separated from God. All who are born again now have a ministry of sharing this with sinners. It is not their sins that is keeping them separated from God, but the sinful spirit within. Their sins are the result of that sinful nature.

So when you witness to a sinner don’t focus on their sins, focus on the sinful nature within them for that is the root of the problem. If they will repent (turn to God) they will have that sinful nature removed and they can experience reconciliation, the great exchange, dying to the old man and receiving a new spirit within and thus becoming born again. This is the word about reconciliation He has committed to us to share with the whole world.

Develop The New You

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Once born again you are a new creation on the inside. You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. The spirit is born again and made new. It is the new man that we need to develop so that we can walk in this new life we have been given. Here are the four key things we must do to develop our spirit.

Meditate on the Word of God – Taking time to focus your thoughts on who you are in Christ. Once you are born again you become one spirit with the Lord. The more you take time to meditate on who you are as a new creation, the more you start thinking like God thinks. You become God-inside minded.

Be obedient to God’s Word – Don’t just be a hearer of the Word of God, be a doer. This is a major part of our transformation to walk in this new life Christ has for us. Jesus did not die for us to just go to heaven. He died so we could live a new life, a life like He lived here on earth.

Give God’s Word first place in your life – There are many voices in the world that are trying to get our attention, and if we don’t put God’s Word first in our life those voices will lead us astray. Proverbs 4:20 tells us we are to give attention to God’s Word. Make it a priority in your life.

Instantly obey your conscience – Your conscience is the voice of your spirit man. It is that still small voice within that is trying to lead us in line with this new nature. Take time to listen to and immediately obey that inner voice, and the real you on the inside will begin to dominate your flesh on the outside.

The new creation within became new for a reason. This was so you could begin to live a new life, walking in the footsteps of Jesus. Develop that new man and your life will never be the same again.

The Veil Has Been Lifted

2 Corinthians 3:14

But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.

In Christ we can now receive insight and revelation of the things of God, for God’s Word is foolishness to those who are perishing, but God reveals all things He has freely given to us (believers) through the Holy Spirit who now lives in us. When you open the scriptures you can fellowship with God. Don’t just read the Bible, listen to what it says. God’s Word is God speaking to you. When you go to the Word of God don’t make it a religious duty. Go to the Word just as you would go to a friends house to spend time with them. Give the Word your full attention.

When you go to the house of God have your heart set on hearing from Him. For example in today’s society how often do you see two people at a restaurant and one person is talking but the other person is looking at their cell phone. You are not going to hear all that God is trying to say to you by sitting in church looking at your phone or thinking about other things.

Jesus one day went into the house of Martha and Mary, two sisters, and Martha got distracted trying to serve everyone, but Mary sat at Jesus’ feet taking in every word. Jesus said Mary had chosen the one thing that was needed, hearing from the Lord. So don’t get distracted when coming to the Bible or when hearing God’s Word preached. The veil that had blinded our minds from God has been removed, but we must give God our full attention if we want to know Him.

Let Him Lead You

2 Corinthians 2:14

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.

If you want to triumph in life you must allow God to lead you. God is a winner and if we will let Him lead us we will always triumph. Jesus has provided your victory, but you won’t obtain that victory without submission to God’s ways. Allowing God to lead you is how you put your faith in Him and what Christ has done for you. We overcome this world by faith, but we are not in faith if we are not yielding our life unto God and His way of doing things.

We must learn to follow the inward witness of the Holy Spirit, as His Spirit bears witness with our spirit He will direct our steps. Listen for the voice of your spirit man, your conscience, and learn to follow that inward voice. We must also walk in the light of God’s Word. His Word is a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path, and when we walk in line with His Word He is leading us into a life of victory; for His truth sets us free.

Last but certainly not least we must walk in love. God is love and when we walk in the love of God we are walking with Him and He is then leading us, and love never fails because God never fails. When you allow God to lead you by the Holy Spirit, His Word, and the love of God, He will lead you in triumph in this life.
